There is usually no sign up fee except of course where it is required to provide you with necessary tools that will increase your overall marketing success.
Affiliates are provided with banners and text-ads coded with links pointing to the merchant's site. They then place the banners or text ads on their websites and get paid whenever a sale is made or when traffic is generated to the merchants site. As with most online businesses, payment is either on commission basis or a fixed fee determined by the merchant.
The affiliates major task therefore becomes finding as many prospects as possible that will bring in the profit for both the merchant and the affiliate. He does not have to worry about inventory, order processing, and product shipping. These, in addition to customer service support are fulfilled by the merchant.
